The power metal hero is back to life. Angus McFife XIII (then in Gloryhammer) dies, Angus McSix, new alter ego of Swiss artist Thomas Winkler, emerges.
Joining him are Italian guitarist Thalia Bellazecca (ex-Frozen Crown), serving as Thalestris, the Amazon Queen, and drummer Manu Lotter (ex-Rhapsody of Fire), as Skaw! As well as producer and multi-instrumentalist Sebastian “Seeb” Levermann (Orden Ogan), being none other than the arch-nemesis Seebulon.
Winkler’s return to the game comes two years after his troubled departure from Gloryhammer, but prepared as ever. The debut album, Angus McSix and the Sword of Power, comes out on April 7 under the Napalm Records label, and already has its first petard in sight: “Master Of The Universe”.
The track simply brings the best of all worlds he has explored; from his former band, which he was in for a decade, to his guest appearances in other projects, such as Nanowar Of Steel’s “Valhalleluja” and Feuerschwanz’s “Warriors Of The World United”.
In an exciting statement, Angus McSix says more about the preview of the upcoming album: “Like warriors before a decisive battle, we have waited. Finally, the day has come to join you in forming a new and invincible army of thousands of loud voices. We are incredibly excited to celebrate the beginning of this epic together with you. Sharpen your swords and rise to the next level to become Masters of the Universe.”
