Kirk Arrington, drummer of Metal Church’s classic period, died this Monday morning (22) at the age of 61. The news broke via the band’s official page, which wrote:

“We just received the sad news, Kirk Arrington passed away this morning due to health issues. Rest in peace brother! See you on the other side…”.

Arrington was from Aberdeen, Washington, USA, and was a two-time member of Metal Church. From 1981 to 1995 he recorded two of the four demos of the initial era, and the albums Metal Church (1984), The Dark (1986), Blessing in Disquise (1989), and Hangin the Balance (1993).

On his return in 1998, he recorded Masterpeace, followed by Live in Japan, from the same year, and The Weight of the World, from 2004. Almost in parallel, he played in Vanderhoof, the band of Kurdt Vanderhoof, guitarist and leader of Metal Church.

In 2006, Kirk leaves the group due to complications from diabetes, but still gets to record with Garden of Eden, releasing the album Feel Me in 2007.
