The American heavy metal band Iced Earth seems to be back to normality. On April 28th the EPs Hellrider and I Walk Among You will be released via ROAR! Rock of Angels Records. These are rare recordings from the transitional phase between vocalists Tim “Ripper” Owens and Matt Barlow in 2007 and 2008.
Hellrider will come with the songs “The Coming Curse”, “Prophecy” and “Birth Of The Wicked”, originally released on the classic album Something Wicked This Way Comes, 1998, and re-recorded by Owens in 2007.
On I Walk Among You there are three tracks from Framing Armageddon (Something Wicked Part I), remixed and re-recorded album released in 2007: “Setian Massacre”, “A Charge to Keep” and “The Clouding”. Besides live songs “Dark Saga”, “Pure Evil” and “Iced Earth”, taken from the Graspop Metal Meeting, recorded by Barlow. The production is signed by guitarist and mentor Jon Schaffer and Jim Morris, who was also in charge of mixing and sound engineering.
In a statement, the band commented, “Before now, these releases hadn’t been issued on anything other than CD. Now they’ve been remastered, with new artwork, new mastering, new formats on vinyl, picture disc, and they’ll be available for digital download for the first time.”
