Appetizer previews the group’s upcoming second studio album
By Luiz Athayde
The guys from Lifeforce, from Espírito Santo, are out in full force with the music video of their newest single “Knights of Apocalypse”, released last week.
The track itself had already won the digital platforms after debuting at the 30th edition of Roadie Crew Online Festival on September 9th, in a line-up that also featured veterans and newcomers of the Brazilian scene, such as Mystifier, Silent Cry, Desalmado and Alchemia.
The appetizer aims to anticipate the next album, the number 2 of the brief discography, which includes, besides the self-titled debut album released in 2005, the demo Apokalipsis Pt.2 in 2011, the live record at Estúdio Showlivre – an excellent showcase for bands, presented by Clemente Tadeu, from Plebe Rude and Inocentes – and the EP Revelations, released last year.
More than that, the audiovisual combo also aims at the future, starting with the new face of the group, curiously without guitarist and founder Alexandre Lopes, now exclusively in charge of the band’s management. In fact, it is he who gives more details about the future (via Hell Yeah Music):
“The time has come! After many years of waiting and the last minute change of three vocalists, only during the recording of this album, the time has finally come to release our second album, anticipated here by “Knights of Apocalypse”. It is a moment of great happiness to be able to share with you what we have been preparing for the last few years and all that we will be doing from now on. Even not being a member anymore, I still contribute a lot and I’m the only one left from the original line-up, so it’s a lot of experience to contribute so Lifeforce doesn’t stop creating and growing”.
About the videoclip production, keyboardist Matheus Cutini comments that it refers to the end of a cycle and the beginning of another, “even more awaited and full of great news”, and continues: “Knights of Apocalypse” brings our definitive formation and establishes the purposes of everything we want to do from now on. This is a very important release for us, because it starts the countdown to the release of our second album, which after so many setbacks, we will be proudly making available to our fans.
Generated from the ashes of Deadly Sins in 2003, having as proposal, progressive heavy metal, Lifeforce currently also consists of vocalist Julliano Barcellos, guitarist Junior Comper, bassist Diego Skda and Gustavo Bride on drums.
